Ken Overstreet II was born in Heidelberg, Germany while his parents served in the military. Shortly thereafter the family returned to the United States, moving to multiple states throughout his childhood. He was accepted into Taliesin, the Frank Lloyd Wright school of Architecture, and studied as an Apprentice in Spring Green, WI and Scottsdale, AZ where he learned about art and architecture. While at Taliesin he began painting and sculpting, selling his work through different arts organizations including the Contemporary Forum at the Phoenix Art Museum, and Art One gallery in Scottsdale.
Overstreet has worked as an architectural designer for over twenty-five years in AZ, Vail, CO, and IL, and has continued to create artwork during that time. He moved to IL in 1999 and has exhibited and sold his work through the St. Charles Art Council and private clientele.
Using different mediums such as oil on canvas or steel and wood sculpture, his creativity is inspired through people, elements that he sees in architecture, and other art. Most of his work is abstract, with a clean and simple approach (that sometimes ends up expressing chaos).
